NY State (Human) Frisbee Championships

Above: This was the first time I performed on blacktop. .....and  I wore a hole in the sole of my brand new boots!

Sunday October 6, 2002 -  the New York State Frisbee Championships were held as part of Warwick, New York's annual Apple Fest.  It was a freestyle competition for humans, not dogs.... can you imagine that?  I was looking forward to seeing a human run and catch a Frisbee in it's mouth, but that isn't what they do.

I attended with my canine Frisbee friend Jewel to perform some canine Frisbee demos in between the human competitors' performances.  It was a lot of fun and the fans seemed to really enjoy it.

Top: Some great human Frisbee competitors demonstrated that even if they can't jump as high as their canine friends, they can perform some pretty great Frisbee freestyle routines.

Left: Jewel and her human companion Joe demonstrated their Frisbee prowess.  Jewel performed some fantastic flips but unfortunately we were not able to catch any on our digital camera.  But trust me she was great!
